Most Frequent Questions and Answers
In this section, you will find answers to the most frequent questions that the clients of Selfemployed Spain ask us.
General Questions
Here you’ll find answers to the questions about our services and plans.
What plan do you recommend me to start with?
If you are starting as autonomo and you register to only one economic activity, we recommend the Basic plan.
If you exercise more than one economic activity and, in addition, you want to have unlimited advice via email, all kinds of procedures such as deferrals, requirements, etc., then your plan is the Professional plan.
How are the payments made?
We charge you once the contract that we will send you by email is formalized. We charge you by credit card between the 5th and the 10th of each month.
In addition, when we issue the invoice you automatically receive an email and it is added to your platform, so you don’t have to worry about accounting it.
Can I change my plan whenever I want?
Once you sign up to our platform, you can move from the Basic plan to the Professional plan and vice versa when you need it.
Is there some kind of permanence in your services?
No, there isn’t. You can hire us for as long as you need.
Do you manage every registration and deregistration?
We include the initial registration in the Tax Agency and the Social Security in both plans: Basic and Professional.
If you like to deregister from the Tax Agency and/or Social Security before 3 months had elapsed using our services, then each procedure would be charged at a cost of € 30+VAT.
How long do you take to process my registration for self-employment? What documents do you need?
Once you sign up to our platform and send us all the information about the activity to develop, we will register you in one to two business days.
We will ask you to authorize us to Social Security so that we can process your registration in the Self-employed Regime (RETA).
Social Security Questions
How will Social Security charge me the self-employment payments?
Social Security collects the self-employed payments by direct debit.
It is essential that you always have enough funds in your bank account around the end of the month or the beginning of the next so that no receipts are rejected.
Does Social Security bill me monthly?
Social Security will not invoice you for the payment of the self-employed fee. You will only receive the bank receipt that you can download from your bank’s account.
You should keep each receipt of the self-employment fee in a pdf document or printed as if it were an invoice. You might be asked if you had a Tax Agency verification.
When will I be charged the first receipt for the self-employment fee?
If you have registered as autonomo between the 1st and 10th of the month, it is most likely that you receive the first charge at the end of the same month.
But if your registration is after the 10th, it is possible that the first payment will be charged by direct debit together with the second at the end of the following month.
Have in mind that if you see that Social Security hasn’t charged you by direct debit within these periods, it is possible that there was an error or that you haven’t had enough funds in your bank account. In this case, go to the Social Security office to make sure what the problem was.
Tax Agency (Hacienda) Questions
When will I be granted the ROI (registration in the VIES census)?
We request the registration in ROI through form 036 when processing your registration in the Tax Agency (AEAT). The AEAT decides whether to grant you registration in ROI or not.
They usually take between 2 and 5 business days to give you the go-ahead, but they can take up to 3 months.
If it takes more than 3 weeks, we recommend you to go to your Tax Agency’s office to ask what information they need and speed up the registration process.
What do I do if I didn’t have money in my account when my taxes were debited?
Don’t wait for the request to arrive! Pay off the debt as soon as possible! You will save surcharges and late payment interest.
